Top issues during term (6)(Development)
Zoning Code Updates: Housing, Day Care, and ADUs
Non-compliance with state housing law could expose the city to legal risk; daycare permitting changes aim to cut costs for providers.
Mobile Home Rent Stabilization and Senior Park Conversion Protections
Rent stabilization could cap rent increases for mobile home residents, many of them seniors on fixed incomes.
Westgate Village mixed-use development
More housing means more construction jobs and potentially more tax revenue for the city.
Minor Home Repair Program added to CDBG plan
Funded through the city's federal CDBG allocation; the specific program amount wasn't stated at the meeting.
developer impact fees
Expect new homes and businesses to cost a bit more as developers pass on these increased city fees.
housing development approval
This project means more housing options, which could help ease rent prices, but it also means more people using local resources.
